Evening Psalm

Oratio (prayer)
Gracious Lord, as this day draws to a close, send Your Holy Spirit as I pray Psalm 111, that I may remember Your wonderful works with my whole heart and rest in Your covenant. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Meditatio (meditation)
Psalm 111
1Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
2The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
3His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.
5He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.
6He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.
7The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.
8They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.
9He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
Consider even rereading in another translation.
You could also consider listening to this chapter, narrated:
KJV (Max McLean) · ESV (Max McLean) · NIV (dramatized)
You might read the whole reading slowly, aloud, more than once.
Consider this verse, for example:
“He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.” (Psalm 111:4)
What other lines speak to you?
The Law "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom" (v. 10). We have not feared, loved and trusted God above all things. We forget His works, and by evening we may hardly recall a single gift He gave us today. His name is "holy and reverend" (v. 9), and we have not always kept it holy.
The Gospel "He sent redemption unto his people" (v. 9). God did not wait for us to remember Him. He remembered us and sent His Son to redeem us. "He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant" (v. 5). At His table Jesus gives you His own body and blood and invites you to do this in remembrance of Him (Luke 22:19). He is gracious and full of compassion toward you.
Prayer Merciful Father, I confess that I have forgotten Your works and not kept Your name holy. Forgive me for Jesus' sake. Thank You for sending redemption to Your people, and for feeding me with Your gifts. Keep me mindful of Your covenant. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Tentatio (trial)
When a day has been hard, it can be difficult to see any of God's works in it. The Psalm gently turns us back: "He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered" (v. 4). God's works do not depend on how we feel tonight. "The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure" (v. 7). In trial it may help to recall one gift from today, and then the greatest gift, the redemption He has sent.
Evening prayer Lord God, You are gracious and full of compassion. As night falls, help me remember Your works and trust Your promises. Watch over me while I sleep, and wake me to praise You with my whole heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.
